What will be open, closed for Memorial Day 2021 near the Summit

Monday, May 31, 2021 is Memorial Day.

Which businesses will be open? Will trash be collected? What about government offices? 

Banks are closed in observance of Memorial Day.

Lexington Public Library locations are closed on Memorial Day.

The Fayette County Clerk Office is closed on Memorial Day.

LFUCG is closed.

FedEx is not delivering on Memorial Day except for Express Critical and they have limited store hours.

UPS will not be delivering on Memorial Day, but it is available for Express Critical shipping.

There is no USPS on Memorial Day. Amazon generally does not deliver on any holiday that the FedEx, UPS, USPS are closed.

No curbside trash, recycling, and waste collection on Memorial Day. Residents and businesses that normally receive curbside pickups on Mondays will be serviced on Wednesday, June 2. Those with Monday service should place their carts out after 4 pm on Tuesday to ensure Wednesday collection. Thursday and Friday collections will be made as usual.

Businesses with dumpsters (landfill-bound and recycling), normally serviced by the city on Mondays, will have their units picked up on Tuesday, June 1. Businesses with dumpsters, normally serviced on Tuesdays, will have their units picked up on Wednesday, June 2.

The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, the Lexington Recycle Center and the Electronics Recycle Center are closed on Saturday, May 29 and Monday, May 31.

GROCERY

Aldi has limited hours from 9 am until 6 pm.

Costco will be closed for Memorial Day.

The Fresh Market is open.

Kroger will be open on Memorial Day.

Sam’s Club is open on Memorial Day from 9 am until 6 pm.

Target stores are open on Memorial Day.

Trader Joe’s is open on Memorial Day.

Walmart is open on Memorial Day.

Whole Foods is open 8 am to 9 pm on Memorial Day.
