Baptist Health was just given an outstanding award for the second year in a row. What award is it? Were there any other Kentucky hospitals given this award?

In 2019, only five hospitals in Kentucky received the Healthgrades 2019 Outstanding Patient Experience Award. This is the same award they were given in 2018.

Healthgrades is the leading online source for physician and hospital information. Patient experiences are measured by how patients felt about the care they received at the hospital and if they wold recommend the hospital.

Throughout the US, there were 434 hospitals that were given this award. This number represents 15% of the hospitals in the nation for patient experience.

Healthgrades evaluated 3,449 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicate and Medicaid Services.

The organization evaluated hospital performances by applying a score methodology to nine patient experience measures using data collected from a 32-question patient survey. The survey questions focused on the patients’ perspectives of their care in the hospital. It ranged from the cleanliness and noise levels in patient rooms to factors such as pain management and responsiveness to patients’ needs.

Congratulations Baptist Health Lexington on this great accomplishment.
