What to do for St. Patrick’s Day?

The 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival is on Saturday, March 16 starting at 8 am. The day starts with the 13th Annual Shamrock Shuffle that benefits Lexington Habitat for Humanity followed by the parade which will all take place downtown. At 10:45 am, the “Blessing of the Keg” at the Alltech tents at Robert F. Stephens Courthouse kicks off the festival. The parade begins at 1 pm, rain or shine.

On March 9 RaceRise hosts the inaugural Lucky Leprechaun Half Marathon, 10 miler & 5K at 8:30 am in Versailles, KY. Partial proceeds benefit the Foster Care Council of LexKy and the Woodford Humane Society.

A night with St. Patrick and a Celtic Spirituality experience for the adults at Faith Lutheran Church. Kids can enjoy crafts and stories.

Jake’s Cigar Shop is having one last party in their old location before they move. The celebration is on Sunday, March 17 at 1 pm. Come share your old memories before you create new ones.

Enjoy a Glow Luck St. Patrick’s Zumba Class at Lexington Athletic Club on Tuesday, March 12 at 6 pm.

St. Patrick’s Day Sip & Shop at The Summit at Fritz Farm on Saturday, March 16 starting at 11 am. Enjoy beverage specials and take them to-go around the Open Container Community while shopping great sales.

 

Where to eat for St. Patrick’s Day?

Starting on March 11, Drake’s in Brannon Crossing is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the whole week. There will be an Irish-themed menu available featuring O’Drake’s Leprechaun Burgers and Irish Fish and Chips. On Sunday, March 17 there will be drink specials all day long.

Enjoy a family oriented St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Lexington Public Library: Beaumont Location on Sunday, March 17 at 2 pm. Enjoy Irish-themed crafts, activities, and music.

Mirror Twin Brewing on National Ave is hosting their 3rd Annual St. Paddy’s Day Party on March 16 at 11:30 am. There will be drinks, music, food, and kid-friendly activities.

Mr. Brews Taphouse is having a weekend celebration starting on Friday, March 15. There will be green beer, “keep the mugs” all weekend, and special Irish drinks. Ben Lacy will perform on Friday night, Celtic Brigade on Saturday, and Selection and Bloody Mary on Sunday.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Winchell’s on Sunday, March 17 starting at 1 pm. There will be food and drink specials all day. Some of their Irish-themed food and drink options are Corned Beef and Cabbage, Bangers and Mash, Shepherds Pie, and Green Beer on Tap.

March 16, join Whiskey Bear for a comparative tasting of premium Irish Whiskies and Kentucky Bourbons. Led by industry expert, Tim Knittel of Distilled Living, for a unique tasting experience. Starts at 3:30 pm.
